Behind a mask (Part 1)
She’s sitting in a corner like paralysed
Her facial expression like petrified
She’s hiding herself behind a mask
Nobody sees, nobody knows what happens inside.
She keeps silence most of the time
Hiding her thoughts behind mysterious eyes
She’s hiding herself behind a mask
Nobody knows, nobody hears the screaming inside.
Words coming through only in fragments and waves
Faces she sees like through a veil
She’s living in a cocoon behind a wall
Nothing reaches her - and there is no way out
Afraid of the memories, afraid of life
Hiding her fears behind empty eyes
She’s hiding herself behind a mask
Nobody knows, nobody feels the coldness inside.
Afraid of the dark, afraid of the light
Hiding her despair behind paranoid eyes
She’s hiding herself behind a mask
Nobody knows, nobody sees the darkness inside.
She’s spending her days numb with her fears
At night she’s wandering around afraid of her dreams
She’s living in a cocoon behind a wall
Nothing reaches her and there is no way out
She hides the scars on her arms and her legs
She just feels something if she’s hurting herself
She’s living in a cocoon in this eternal dawn
Hiding her secret behind her wall
