The city (part 2)
Pictures of my thoughts
Melt into the city lights
Aimlessly I wander through the night.
Glaring advertising lights
Disrupt the dark
Painting colored patterns on the tarmac.
There’s the warm glow of candles
Out of pubs and restaurants
Sometimes a laugh flies through opened doors.
Windows of apartments
Are lighted bright
Many of them by the bluish glow of the TV light
People amble through the streets
Passing shop – windows with their bright lights
The haste of day gives way to the sereneness of the night.
A woman is standing at a window
Starring outside
Standing there like paralysed
Thousands of windows I’m passing by
Sometimes there’s a fleeting glimpse inside
Thousands of windows with unknown stories behind.
