Living today
There is this sadness inside your eyes
A deep sorrow even behind your smile
What happened in the past?
What from do you hide in your dark?
Gained experiences have taught me to doubt
I became cautious and I built a hideout
For faith and love and hope and trust,
Protecting them from turning to dust.
Yesterday is far away
And the past we can’t change
We’re living today
The future is far away
What tomorrow brings no one can say
We’re living today
I know this feeling when there’s this darkness all around
And I know how it feels to lose ground
When it all comes crashing down about your ears
And every day is filled with fears
Where do dreams go when reality leaves no space?
Do they vanish without any trace?
Will we be able to dream anew?
Or will we declare dreams untrue.
Yesterday is far away
And the past we can’t change
We’re living today
The future is far away
What tomorrow brings no one can say
We’re living today
We are able to build up something new
On experiences which we have to revalue.
They shouldn’t make us abandon and cede
We need courage to succeed
Yesterday is far away
But some scares will stay
We have to live with them today
The future we can’t prophesy
Ain’t no use in asking why
All that counts are you and I
Yesterday is far and gone
And the times of darkness lasted long
Let us turn a light on
The future is far away
What tomorrow brings no one can say
But we can change the future today
